This is a medium to high-risk investment. The risk factor is minimized through the diverse spread of selected equities. Selection is based on a scale about 12-20 value securities on the (ZSE) stock exchange. Thus a fall in value of some shares should be cushioned by a rise in others. The general equity fund will provide investors with capital growth in the long term.
There is an initial charge of 5%. Distribution of income is semi-annually, in March and September. Beside these distributions one also tends to gain or lose through unit price fluctuations (the risk element inherent in this fund). The price per unit secured at fund entry represents the units purchased and the price movements represent the capital appreciation or loss.
